If you look at previous versions of iOS, we can assume when iOS 15 comes out – no earlier than the fall of 2021. iOS, iPadOS and macOS come out at about the same time for a year in a row.
Apple usually releases the mobile operating system in mid-September, about a week after the announcement of the new iPhone. Judging by past years, the release of iOS 15 will take place between September 14 and 18, 2021.

Why is it the IPad 5th generation is listed to get IOS 15 while the original SE, 6S, and 6S plus all use the same chip A9?
They certainly can’t say the A9 chip is not powerful enough…..if the 5th generation IPad gets iOS 15.
The IPad 5th generation shares the same A9 chip and 2GB of Ram as the 6S.
So, if the 5th generation IPad can get IOS 15…..why can the 6S not get it as well?
Therefore, the 6S, 6S plus, and original SE should get the update.
The 6S is still a popular phone.

While I understand many think iPhone 6s should be supported due to its memory. The problem is that the chip setter iPhone 6S is getting old, and simply lacks the processing power needed to support the growing demands that updates require. As it becomes a point where support of older devices, just is no longer economically viable. But that does not mean the phones will stop functioning, as there are people who are still using the original iPhone. But I am sure iOS 15 will be a good update

iPhone 6s should be supported as it contains 2GB RAM and A9 processor. iPhone 6s is till share a big market.
